Hi-Doh
Page 1
It is wonderful to hear the little chimes working happily together. They play pleasant, tingling tunes for old Mister Diego in his Mexican Palace. Mister Diego is really happy to have his old friend Master Chi Lu visiting from overseas.
He flew in yesterday with his 8 little chimes. Mister Diego placed the little chimes up high, hanging from the ceiling. Can you see HI-DOH? He is the purple little chime.
Page 2
Mister Diego can see ALL the little chimes. He can hear every single note as they are swinging around. He noticed too, that each note is different. Each chime has a different sound. But together they play beautifully. He says, "Welcome to my Mexican Villa."
Page 3
Mister Diego now learns that their names are LO-DOH, RAY, MEE, FAH, SOH, LAH, TEE and HI-DOH.
The little chimes have matured into clear individual sounds. Sometimes one note plays a lot louder than the others...
Page 4
...especially Little Hi-DOH. He has grown into a handsome, full-toned chime. His chime sound, is a high C note.
And he LIKES to stand out! Can you see him chiming loudly?
Page 5
HI-DOH grew proud in his spirit. Now he holds his note long and loud when he hits his chime plate. The other chimes try to correct HI-DOH but he doesn't listen to them.
He selfishly rings out his High 'C' note. It is a beautiful sound, but he isn't listening to the others when they try to correct him.
Page 6
"I don't like you Lazy LAH! ... and YOU Little MEE!"
Page 7
"You are ALL different from me! ... and MY sound is a lot louder than your sound. Hah!"
Page 8
Funny FAH whispered, "You are embarrassing us. We are Mister Diego's guests."
It wasn't long before HI-DOH decided that he has star qualities. He is handsome and he is different. Now he is being very proud and stubborn.
Page 9
"I don't need all of you," HI-DOH shouts, "I'm going out to make it on my OWN!" And off he went.
Page 10
The other chimes are so sad to see Little HI-DOH become so PROUD and selfish.
Their Master loves each one of the little chimes very much. Mister Diego loves them too.
Page 11
The little chimes could still play many beautiful tunes without HI-DOH.
They let him go to prove himself. They started playing The Circle Dance for Mister Diego and Master Chi Lu.
Page 12
Little HI-DOH is now anxiously walking towards his first appearance at a Concert. Mexicans love a great musical show. He was sure the crowd would love his performance.
Page 13
HI-DOH went and had some posters printed for his appearance on THE VOICE. He smiled proudly for the Poster. He wanted many people to turn up at the studio for his first appearance on THE VOICE.
Page 14
People bought tickets and sat in the studio waiting for THE VOICE to start.
Suddenly, Little HI-DOH appeared on stage and started to sing his High "C" note. He proudly sang it long and loud!
Page 15
"BORING!"
"CAN YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE?"
"WHAT ELSE CAN YOU SING?"
At first, everyone thought it was interesting. But, as HI-DOH continued with his one-note-only singing, they began to shout at him!
Page 16
HI-DOH was so embarrassed!
Page 17
HI-DOH is very lonely now. He begins to run back to his friends. He wants the comfort he feels when he is around his friends. He wants to see Master Chi Lu and Mister Diego. He begins to realise that although he is handsome and individual, he still needs his friends to make him happy.
Page 18
He can't wait to get back with the other chimes.
Page 19
HI-DOH returned to his friends and stood at a distance.
Page 20
HI-DOH was glad Mister Diego was watching them play. And HI-DOH was really happy when he saw how forgiving his little friends were to see him.
They ran to cuddle him.
Page 21
HI-DOH could see that each of his friends was a happy little individual. They were making beautiful music... even without his high "C" note playing... his friends could see him too, how anxious he was! They were reaching out for his hand.
Page 22
"SORRY"
Page 23
Now they are all together again playing for the happiest ones of all...
Page 24
...their Grand old Master Chi Lu and Mister Diego! Can you see HI-DOH and FUNNY FAH singing? They are singing, "DOH RAY MEE FAH SOH LAH TEE HI-DOH"
