Page 1
As a new day dawns on the awakening Palace, a happy, colourful fly and a beautiful butterfly flutter near the chimes. The Little Chimes smile and reach out to greet Nosey the fly. Other chimes begin to stir and yawn as the butterfly settles on a chime plate.
Page 2
Master Chi Lu is sweeping the floor. He helps his happy workers prepare for the beautiful day ahead.
Four of the chimes are swinging with big smiles on their faces. Funny FAH and Little RAY are holding Paddle Ball Racquets. Can you see Little RAY? He's the LIGHT BLUE chime. Today he has a band around his forehead like a famous tennis player.

Soon the chimes begin tinkling against their chime plate. A lovely tune drifts on the breeze. But this time one chime unexpectedly stops! It's Little TEE.
Nosey the Fly has landed on her nose! Have you ever tried to blow a fly off your nose?

"Ha! Ha! Missed me!"
"OOPS!"
Wow! What a walloping swing by Little TEE! Little TEE didn't really try to hit Nosey... she just automatically reacted. She bumped ANGRY Little RAY. He dropped his racquet.

"Hey! Watch what you're doing!"
"Or I'll PUSH YOU!"
ANGRY Little RAY shouts at Little TEE. Little TEE tells Little RAY she was just trying to brush Nosey away.
Page 6
ANGRY Little RAY continues to shout as he pushes her. Funny FAH has swung over near them and tries to distract Little RAY. He asks Little RAY if he would like to swing and play some more racquet ball. But Angry RAY gets even madder.
"Well, keep your hands to yourself!"
"NO-O-O-O!"
Page 7
...he turns his back to walk away in a huff. But Funny FAH wants him to stay. He is holding Angry Little RAY's arm to comfort him and give him the racquet he dropped.

Little TEE is feeling better. She asks Little SOH if she thinks there's something bothering Little RAY.
Little SOH says that lately, he gets very angry, over small things, and maybe that's causing his anger.

Look, the breeze has stopped. Master Chi Lu and friends are looking up at the little chimes. Master Chi Lu knows there is something wrong because the musical chimes have stopped! He is anxious to hear LO-DOH, RAY, MEE, FAH, SOH, LAH, TEE, HI-DOH.

"What is happening?" Master Chi Lu decides to give his little chimes some time to themselves. He invites his visitors to follow him for some green tea.

"What will we do?"
"Maybe it's the weather!"
Little LOH is worried because she was sure that Master Chi Lu would be embarrassed in front of his visitors. Little TEE again said that she only bumped Little RAY accidently. She is sure there must be something else wrong with him.

"What's the matter Little Ray?"
"LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Page 13
"You look so tired today, Little RAY. Please tell me what is making you feel angry?"
"I was cold last night," sobbed Little RAY, "I couldn't sleep."
"The weather HAS changed. YES!" added Funny FAH. "You will need an extra chime blanket over you tonight."
ANGRY Little RAY shouted, "But where can I get an extra blanket?"

"Master Chi Lu has a silkworm farm. The silkies will soon make us another tiny blanket for ANGRY Little RAY."
"I'll go and get it," shouts Nosey. "Silkies are my friends." "Mine too," added Butterfly. The little chimes were so happy at IMAGINATIVE Little MEE's idea. Nosey and Butterfly were going to bring back a small, silk blanket for Little RAY.
"I HAVE AN IDEA! Master..."

The little chimes watched Nosey and Butterfly leave on their mission to bring back a tiny chime blanket. Little RAY is feeling much better now that his friends are helping him.
He stopped sulking and hugged someone. The anger left him. He wanted to be nice to Little TEE.
"I'm sorry I pushed you Little TEE."
"I understand," she said, and held out her hand.

It is not easy for Nosey and Butterfly to carry a silk blanket all the way from the silkworm farm to the Palace. So they hold it like a sail, floating through the window up to the chimes. The happy chimes cheer and wave. ANGRY Little RAY can't wait to feel his new blankie!

The sounds of the Little Chimes playing again brought Master Chi Lu tip-toeing into the room. His curious visitors peered into the Palace foyer.
The old master now can see the chimes have settled their differences. He warmly invites the visitors to move closer to listen to their gentle tunes.

"I am cuddling my blankie!"
Now Nosey and Butterfly are flying out the window again. They want to pick up their own little silk blankies too. Imaginative MEE and Funny FAH feel really warm because they helped ANGRY Little RAY. And, ANGRY Little RAY is not angry any more because he knows he is loved by his friends!
